Rotoscoping

Rotoscoping: the animation technique was used to trace over live action animated films. the live action films were displayed on a frosted glass panel  to be re drawn by animators. the equipment is called a rotoscrope with all the technology in todays age the old way of rotoscoping has been replaced by the computer. with in the visual effects industry the term rotoscoping refers to the  technique of manually creating a matte used on a live action plate so that it could be composed over a background.
